When cooking influencer Tini Younger and her husband Antoine Wright Jr. shared the joyous news earlier this year that they were expecting twin daughters, fans celebrated what seemed like the perfect next chapter for the couple. In June 2025 Younger posted an adorable reveal declaring “2 sous chefs on the way,” a nod to her food-content roots and her excitement about expanding her family.

On November 26, 2025, that hope turned into heartbreak. In an emotionally raw post on social media Younger announced that she had suffered a placental abruption just short of 36 weeks into her pregnancy. What followed was a loss no parent should endure: her daughter Arya “Baby A” did not survive. Her twin sister, however, did, and is currently breathing on her own in stable condition.

In her post she wrote that this was “not the post [she] ever thought [she] would share,” telling followers that despite the hope and planning, tragedy struck just as they neared full term. She added that both daughters had been “so beautiful,” and assured that Arya will always be celebrated. Her surviving twin will grow up knowing she had a sister, and that sister’s memory will live on.

Tini and Antoine shared black-and-white hospital photos of themselves cradling Arya alongside a doctor, stark, silent visuals that carry the weight of overwhelming grief. Along with the announcement of Arya’s passing, Tini said she will be stepping away from social media for an indefinite period to mourn, promising only that she will return when she is ready.

To understand the tragedy, a little context helps. Placental abruption is a serious medical complication where the placenta which supplies oxygen and nutrients to the fetus detaches from the uterine wall before delivery. This separation can cut off vital oxygen and nourishment, putting the baby at risk and creating dangerous bleeding for the mother. In some cases it leads to severe premature birth or fetal death.

In July this year Younger announced she was expecting twins, describing her pregnancy journey openly to fans. She had spoken about her pregnancy’s impact on her cooking content, admitting that the only major change was that she craved more sweets. Yet she remained dedicated to her platform, even describing how she planned to adapt Thanksgiving content to accommodate the pregnancy.

The losses never feel more real than when the path from announcement to celebration collapses. Just months ago Tini had envisioned two crib-ready babies, holiday cooking with a growing family, and the sweet chaos of twins. Instead, she and Antoine now face heartbreak, remembering one child while caring for another, a bittersweet paradox no parent should have to navigate.

Since the news broke, reactions across social media, from fans and fellow creators alike, have poured in messages of grief, love, support and sorrow. Many praised Tini’s honesty and vulnerability, acknowledging that by sharing such a painful moment publicly, she is also destigmatizing grief and loss in a space often dominated by highlight reels and perfection.

In reflecting on her loss, Tini’s decision to step back seems both necessary and courageous. She communicated not with flourish, but with candour, love, and the raw ache of grief. The promise to return whenever that might be emphasizes that healing cannot be scheduled, and that sometimes silence is the only platform strong enough to carry sorrow.

If there is a sliver of solace in this tragedy, it is in the survival of Arya’s twin, a living, breathing connection to the daughter they lost. For now, that child will carry not only her own future, but also the memory of a sister she will never meet. And as her mother said, Arya will always be celebrated.
