Golf influencer and actress Paige Spiranac shared during an Instagram Q&A on August 6 that she chose to keep her dating life and personal relationships entirely private after experiencing deep emotional harm from public scrutiny.

Reflecting on her early marriage to athletic trainer Steven Tinoco in 2018, and their divorce four years later, she explained that the backlash and harassing messages she received made her decide: she would never again share personal details or open herself to public commentary about friends, family, or romance. She emphasized that this decision is rooted in safeguarding her mental health and emotional boundaries not about protecting her following and that not sharing means she owes no explanation to anyone.

Spiranac clarified that despite being candid about many aspects of her life and career, she now maintains a strict divide between public-facing content and private life. Her decision comes from feeling “so vulnerable” when her most private moments were thrust into public discussion, undercutting her emotional safety. Rather than framing public silence as a tactic to retain an audience, she insisted it reflects a commitment to self-care and personal integrity.

Beyond addressing her personal boundaries, Spiranac also spoke about her role in the recent Netflix film Happy Gilmore 2. She described filming her cameo with Adam Sandler as one of the most enjoyable and affirming professional experiences. She praised him as kind and humble and said the behind-the-scenes process gave her real appreciation for filmmaking craft and teamwork.

Spiranac’s remarks resonate amid wider conversations about influencer mental health and the fallout of turning private life into public content. Her decision points to a growing awareness that being vulnerable online can bring supportive connection but also merciless scrutiny. In her case it amounted to a turning point: silence became not absence, but strength.
