Influencer and wellness-brand founder Kayla Nicole, 34, has publicly addressed a series of resurfaced social-media posts containing homophobic slurs and derogatory remarks about various ethnic groups, offering a candid apology and announcing the deletion of her X account to remove “the energy” she said she no longer wishes to perpetuate.

In a statement shared on her Instagram Stories, Nicole wrote that seeing the posts from 2010 to 2014 again had been “incredibly difficult” and that she felt ashamed for having “thought or spoken that way.” She characterised the posts as “ignorant, hurtful and completely wrong.” She continued by saying the person she is today “would never use those words or express those kinds of views” and emphasised that her values are now rooted in empathy, love and respect for others.

As part of the apology, Nicole confirmed that she had deleted all the prior posts and deactivated the account she used at the time (formerly known as Twitter, now X) because she did not want to continue contributing to a cycle of hate or allowing those old comments to exist in the public sphere. She stated plainly: “I take full responsibility for what I posted, and I’m truly sorry to anyone I may have hurt.”

Nicole’s public identity has included being a media personality, a podcast-host (“The Pre-Game”), and a wellness-brand founder. She previously held roles in sports media and came into broader public attention through her on-and-off relationship with Travis Kelce, the NFL star.

The resurfacing of the posts coincided with renewed scrutiny over a Halloween costume Nicole wore that attracted speculation about whether it was aimed at Kelce’s then-partner Taylor Swift though Nicole denied that her look was a dig at Swift, stating it was instead a tribute to an early memory of her best friend.
